Dr. Kanwaljit Brar is a graduate of Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed her residency in Pediatrics at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Allergy & Immunology fellowship at State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate campus in Brooklyn, NY. After her allergy fellowship, she spent an additional year in a Pediatric Dermatology Research Fellowship where she gained clinical trial experience in Pediatric Dermatology. Her areas of interest include atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. Other areas of interest include food allergy, anaphylaxis, and environmental allergies, particularly as they relate to skin presentation and cutaneous sensitization. In residency, she investigated the potential allergenicity of shea butter, and cleared its use for individuals with nut allergy. Dr. Brar has contributed articles to Colorado Parent magazine, relating her experiences as an allergist and mom to a child with allergies.
