Elizabeth Swanson, MD

Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children
Assistant Professor
University of Colorado School of Medicine

Dr. Elizabeth (Lisa) Swanson is a board-certified dermatologist and pediatric dermatologist.  She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She attended college at the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating with honors as an English major.  After that she obtained her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans.  She performed her internship at Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, and went on to complete her dermatology residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.  After that, she completed a fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at Phoenix Children’s Hospital in Arizona.

Dr. Swanson has served on the board of the Colorado Dermatological Society for the past 3 years and is currently President of the Colorado Dermatological Society.  She is an active lecturer at conferences discussing pediatric dermatology with audiences across the country.  She has been selected as a “Top Doc” by 5280 Magazine in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.  She is on staff at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children where she sees hospital consults and performs procedures.  Dr. Swanson loves sports (especially the Broncos and the Rockies!) and likes to spend her free time hiking, skiing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family, friends and her 2 dogs.

Dr Swanson went into dermatology because she felt like it allowed her to “fix” things for people so that they could live happier and healthier lives.  She chose Pediatric Dermatology because she realized that it simply made her happy to help kids.  She has an enthusiasm for the evaluation and treatment of pediatric dermatology conditions.  Specifically, her interests include birthmarks, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and acne.
